Dr Yinka Opeke
Dr. Yinka Opeke was dubbed a “Serial Entrepreneur” in a report by The Laurel in April 2021 with over 15years of industry expertise. Her latest brainchild Smart Gas leverages technology to solve challenges faced by consumers when purchasing cooking gas in Nigeria, and the dangers associated with it. It is a technology-driven, app-based platform in the market designed from the ground up for clients to experience a more convenient way to purchase cooking gas, increase transaction efficiency, and optimize the user experience.
As a Managing Partner at TEXA Property Group, a U.S.-registered, Houston-based Real Estate/Asset Management Company, focused on wealth and value creation for its clients, she co-designed the Home Ownership Made Easy (HOME) co-investment product, which is aimed at long-term wealth creation for upwardly mobile, smart working individuals/potential investors which allows a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 6 investors to come together to make real estate investments in Texas.
She is the founder and CEO of Trade Expo Africa (TEXA), a US-registered Houston-based company focused on promoting bilateral trade relations, investment opportunities, educational advancements, international collaborations, and information exchange between citizens of Houston/U.S. and Africa. We achieve this through exhibitions/tradeshows, conferences, study trips, trade missions, B2B connections, etc. TEXA also aims to boost export opportunities in Africa by leveraging on The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), which is a United States Trade Act, enacted on 18 May 2000 as Public Law 106 of the 200th Congress. The purpose of this legislation is to assist the economies of sub-Saharan Africa and to improve economic relations between the United States and these regions with the possibility of exporting qualifying products into the U.S. duty-free.
In 2010, she founded D’Acero Limited a creative agency with core competencies in defining, positioning, and delivering brands including, Marketing and Print Advertising, Branding & Corporate Visual Identity Systems, Digital Design, Graphic Design, Bespoke Gift Items & Marketing Collaterals. She pioneered the auto-gele (ready-to-wear female headgear) trend which is now very popular in Nigeria, through one of her early businesses Opeke Gele.
